Bringing this piece over from Twitter for those that missed it originally.
Jeremy Hambly aka “TheQuartering” has a “self made brand” of coffee that he has claimed that; He roasts the beans himself, he owns the roasting equipment, has several employees, & several other outlandish fabrications to get his fans to buy this simple coffee.
I started looking into this back in July when he posted a video to his page of employees roasting beans & it made me wonder about the origins of the production. The video was fairly simple, but showed filthy conditions & rusting on the machinery.
After some digging through his website I got focused in on his about us page, with promises of "Direct Trade partnerships, sustainability, soil prevention, ect" the entire thing sounded off for what Hambly is known for. Unsurprisingly it sounded odd because he didn't write it, it's direct copy paste of another brand 'Millcreek Roasters' with just the brand name changed. Millcreek is a roasting company that has been in business for 30 years now.
One of Millcreek's speciality services is Private Label Packaging; from their site: "We provide private label options for customers who prefer their own brand of coffee for resale. From fulfillment to roasting to packaging, we can provide everything you need for your coffee brand."
So Jeremy; through his lack of creativity seems to have led to his packager & supplier. Was it Coincidence or Confirmation? Jeremy's business address is registered to a storage facility in Utah.
It was also pointed out to me while looking into TheQuartering was that "Player One Coffee" owned by the CEO of MetaPCs (one of Jeremy's & other controversial YouTuber's sponsors) also has their LLC in Salt Lake City, along with a video they posted back in 2020 of them at the facility where he pointed out that the "roaster he's working with has been in business for over 20 years". The machines, the buckets, the warehouse all matched videos & photos for not only "Coffee BrandCoffee" but also, Millcreek Roasters whose processing facility & coffee shops are in Utah. At one point Jeremy was even asked during a stream he should "live stream from the facility" Jeremy responded to the user "Stream making coffee AKA Beans Processed and whatever? Well that's in Utah so..."
Quality coffee or a Cheap Bean for profit? Off the assumption that Millcreek is providing private label, consulting & delivery services for Quartering, PlayerOne, ect. Are the beans ethically sourced, is the price you're paying fair, is this just another Quartering grifting fans?
The answer to these questions are Likely, fuck no, & OFCOURSE.
Millcreek receive some of (if not all of) their beans from a marketing & logistics company named "The coffee source" (I swear they name these places so you can't get information about them outside of their reports) At this time however I was not able to get information on the farms they work with in Guatemala, Costa Rica, ect; only the programs they help fund in those areas.
Pricing; Fair-Trade Organic whole bean roasters typically will charge 10-15$ (depending on blend/brand) for a 16oz bag of what would be considered quality coffee. Jeremy's "CoffeeBrandCoffee" charges 18$ for single bags of 12oz bean & ground coffee. So thats the grift, people that are loyal to the Quartering are paying more than a 100% markup for his "brand.” When they can not only get the exact same beans for cheaper through the suspected supplier "Millcreek Roasters" but as quality if not higher quality through different roasters, that are actually certified "Fair-Trade Organic."
All the nonsense about Jeremy slaving over finding the perfect blends, overseeing the coffee roasting process, ect. To no surprise is all fabricated, he's likely never stepped foot inside this facility & is just purchasing else's coffee in his packaging. Back from May 2022 Quartering proclaimed "I do roast my beans,” as it should be evident by now Jeremy never has, & never will be involved in the actual production of “his” coffee. His entire involvement is marketing it as a separate brand, which he chose to do by lying every step of the way, charging his consumers extra, and failing to even be creative about it. So that's it, for his fans; buy elsewhere or pay over 2x as much for The Quartering's name, it's that simple.
Here's a breakdown of Millcreek's facilities & Zach Amador (the head roaster) to the video posted by Jeremy. In a twist of irony on the “non-political” coffee Jeremy provides, Millcreek Roasters are a family/ women owned business that also celebrates the LGBT community.
Also in August of 2021 TheQuartering got reported for doing an illegal lottery with "his coffee company" So he had viewers brigade his anti-sub Reddit, which in Hambly’s case is like 5 people, before trying to do it himself & failing miserably.
Fun Fact: after I originally made this article Jeremy Hambly aka TheQuartering blocked me on Twitter & he raged on stream about “people harassing his coffee employees.” or something like that. So thank you for taking the time to read my work.
